Terms of Service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of TakedownClock ("TakedownClock," "we," "us"), a service that gives websites a public page for receiving removal requests under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, tracks the 48-hour response deadline for each request, and keeps a record of what was done. TakedownClock is operated by Reasonate LLC, a Maryland limited liability company. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

Not legal advice

TakedownClock is a compliance tool, not a law firm, and nothing in the service is legal advice. We provide software that runs an intake and record-keeping process. Whether a request is valid, whether content must come down, and how you respond are your decisions. For advice about your situation, hire a lawyer.

Who can use TakedownClock

Site owners and their authorized staff may create accounts. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to register a site. People submitting removal requests do not need an account and must not create one to file a request.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done from your account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. One human, one account. Do not share logins.

Your responsibilities as a site owner

Registering a site with TakedownClock does not transfer your legal duties to us. In particular:

  • You decide whether each request is valid and what action to take. Marking a request removed, or denied, in TakedownClock is a record of your decision, not ours.
  • You are responsible for actually removing content on your own site. TakedownClock records decisions; except for optional integrations such as the Plus-plan WordPress plugin acting on your configuration, it does not alter content on your site.
  • You are responsible for publishing your report link where your users can find it, and for meeting the response deadlines the law sets.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the denial reasons and notes you enter, because reporters and regulators may rely on them.

Removal requests and requesters

A removal request consists of links to content, the requester's name and email, their relationship to the person depicted, optional notes, and a signed good-faith statement. Requesters must never upload images or other files; the service provides no upload function and rejects requests framed as anything other than links and statements. Submitting a false statement, impersonating another person, or using the form to harass a site is prohibited, and site owners may deny such requests with the reason recorded.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Submit requests or records you know to be false.
  • Use requester contact details for any purpose other than handling their request.
  • Impersonate another person or site.
  • Probe the service for security vulnerabilities without first contacting us. If you think you have found one, email tryreasonate@gmail.com.

Plans and payment

TakedownClock has a free tier and paid plans, priced per site. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing section of your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and your sites move to the free tier. Prices, limits, and features may change; if we change a plan's price we will give existing subscribers notice. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles them. Refunds: contact us at tryreasonate@gmail.com. We are a small team and cannot commit to a formal refund window.

Records and retention

Request records and audit logs are the product. We retain them while your account is active so you can show what came in, when, and what you did about it. If you close your account, we will delete or export your records as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting records you are legally required to keep is your responsibility to judge, not ours.

Termination

You can stop using TakedownClock at any time. To have your account and associated data deleted, email tryreasonate@gmail.com. Deletion requests are handled manually by an admin. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, submit false records, or repeatedly violate these Terms. If we terminate your account for cause, we may retain audit logs as needed to investigate or to comply with our own obligations.

Service is provided "as is"

TakedownClock is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. A deadline display is a record-keeping aid; a missed deadline caused by an outage is still your deadline.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reasonate LLC and the individuals operating it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or regulatory fines or penalties arising from your use of the service or your handling of removal requests. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid TakedownClock in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Reasonate LLC and the individuals operating it from any claim arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, your handling of removal requests for your sites, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to sue locally.

Changes

We may update these Terms, for example as we add features or subprocessors. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we will try to flag it on the page or by email.
